THE PINK SWAN PROJECT

The Swan Chair was designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1958 and has become an iconic piece that's so timeless it looks like it was designed yestereday. Suite New York is furniture showroom in New York and this is the second year they've done the Pink Project Online Furniture Auction. Last year they did The Pink Wishbone Project, where they had 20 bad-ass designers add their personal flair to one of my favorite iconic chairs, The Wishbone. This year, the month long auction was for the Swan Chair decorated by designers including Kelly Hoppen, Vicente Wolf, Jonathan Adler and more. Check out some of my favorites below...

Vicente Wolf

Jamie Drake
If you haven't seen his portfolio before, check it out! He is one of my all time fav. designers due to his unmatched color palettes, his eye for artwork and his crazy sense of humor in design. This chair was inspired by Black Swan, love it.

Campion Platt

Jonathan Adler
Jonathan Adler can do no wrong by me, got to love his insinuation of the lady parts here.

D.B. Kim for Swarovski

Holly Fulton for Swarovski

Alexandra Von Furstenberg
The super cool step-daughter of Diane Von Furstenberg has been in the furniture and product design business for the last 5 years. She works mostly with neon acrylic and is very inspired by the 1970's. This chair was inspired by melting candy and if you look close you can see a kiss sealed into acrylic back.

Chris Kraig

Madeline Weinrib
Madeline is famous for her beautiful fabric and rug design. She designed this Ikat fabric for the cause.

Windsor Smith
"I was inspired by Madonna's corset as a symbol of empowerment for women who are battling breast cancer. The rosy colored base represents a positive outlook for the strong woman who I envision sitting in the chair."    -Windsor Smith

Julie Hillman

Kelly Hoppen

Margherita Maccapani Missoni

The month long auction ends today, so if your feeling charitable go to this site.

HALLOWEEEEN

Happy Halloween! My husband and I moved into a house about a year ago so we are excited to spend the night at home with some friends, drinking festive cocktails and handing out candy to the neighborhood kids. For a low key Halloween, we're dressing as John Travolta and Uma Thurman in Pulp Fiction (perfect considering our hairstyles are a similar to the characters).

I love this idea! Take a bunch of glow sticks and empty them into a jar for an instant glow. This would make a great centerpiece for a party, especially if you had some beakers or an old chemistry set.

DOGGIE DESIGN

I've been looking for the perfect dog bed for my XL yellow lab for the longest time. It's been really difficult because big dog requires big bed and if I need to put a giant pillow in my living room it better bring something to the decor.  Here are a few that have caught my eye.

See Spot Sleep is a cool dog bed company based in New Orleans. The beds are double-sided, one side with a fun coastal illustration and the other with a sketchy chevron pattern. The cherry on the top is this company donate 10% of there proceeds to the Gulf Coast Fund.

While these pEi Pods are about the size of my dog Corbit's head, I had to share because they are so freaking cute! The colors of these eggs are so sweet they hurt my teeth, maybe it's time for a puppy...

This dog house is really cool because it blends in with the environment. It also gives the pooch some options, he can hang out under the cool fort or he can sunbathe on the sloped roof.

PATTI'S LITTLE INKLINGS

Patti Krohngold is a crazy talented artist and a great friend of mine. We've worked as partners on residential interiors as well as restaurant designs (5th Street Cafe and Escorpion). Along with being an interior designer and owner of Art Mix Productions, she's created a series of Inklings with white paper and black ink. They are cheeky and sometimes a little naughty. I love that they sell at great price point and always get a reaction. Check them out below.

CRAZY CUTE GOODIES

Hello. Today I want to share some cute and humorous home goods. As a general rule of thumb, I think you shouldn't take interior design to seriously. I love to add bits of ridiculousness to a room; it gives a space personality and storyline. Check out these products below for a good smile.

Philippe Starck is known for his campy products and silly sense of design. This Kartell Gnome Table as alway been on my wish list. It adds so much to any environment; put it in a traditional room to throw a spark into the fire, use it in a super clean modern room to add a pop of unexpected color.

CRAZY SEXY LOVE!

My husband David and I recently celebrated our 2 year anniversary woo-hoo! I love being married and I can't believe it's already been two years. Our wedding was at The King Plow Art Center amongst the fine art and rusty factory equipment (yummy). The night was full of sparkling wine and delicious food, our family and friends and music by Brett Barnard and The Hitman Band. We made a great decision in hiring W. Scott Chester Photography, they did an amazing job capturing our wedding and I smile every time I see these pictures.

Cheers to many more years together!
