The Swan Chair was designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1958 and has become an iconic piece that's so timeless it looks like it was designed yestereday. Suite New York is furniture showroom in New York and this is the second year they've done the Pink Project Online Furniture Auction. Last year they did The Pink Wishbone Project, where they had 20 bad-ass designers add their personal flair to one of my favorite iconic chairs, The Wishbone. This year, the month long auction was for the Swan Chair decorated by designers including Kelly Hoppen, Vicente Wolf, Jonathan Adler and more. Check out some of my favorites below...
If you haven't seen his portfolio before, check it out! He is one of my all time fav. designers due to his unmatched color palettes, his eye for artwork and his crazy sense of humor in design. This chair was inspired by Black Swan, love it.
Jonathan Adler can do no wrong by me, got to love his insinuation of the lady parts here.
The super cool step-daughter of Diane Von Furstenberg has been in the furniture and product design business for the last 5 years. She works mostly with neon acrylic and is very inspired by the 1970's. This chair was inspired by melting candy and if you look close you can see a kiss sealed into acrylic back.
Madeline is famous for her beautiful fabric and rug design. She designed this Ikat fabric for the cause.
"I was inspired by Madonna's corset as a symbol of empowerment for women who are battling breast cancer. The rosy colored base represents a positive outlook for the strong woman who I envision sitting in the chair." -Windsor Smith
